I'm a duathlete. Love riding my bike, running, and topping it off with a good pint afterwards!

I live, work and play in Cardiff, Wales, UK.

Coming up are my personal and mostly useless ramblings on cycling and running.

When I'm not training or racing, I like to surf, play guitar, go to gigs, read, and brew real ale.

Wine is good too: making it, but better still, drinking it! Love music (Spotify & Last.fm) and always on the lookout for new bands. Bit of a sci-fi geek too - BSG rocks!

Spend far too much time drinking coffee and tinkering with Java code and SIP for a living, so there might be some tech shit in here too.

I'm proud to say I'm a sucker for beautiful women, so please excuse my propensity for posting the odd photo of my future wife! ;-)

And finally, once or twice a year, I head to the Alps for some snowboarding, which sadly, is never enough...

Sorry about the Edgar Allen Poe pun in the blog "Title"; I have no imagination.

Bahahahhaha!!!
I’ve been getting so much shit off my (snobby roadie) mates since buying the fixie. This article made me chuckle!
I will be wearing a lid, will have a front brake, and the bike lock will be in the bag or on the frame, i.e. not hanging out of my arse pocket waiting to snap my pelvis in two the first time I forget I’m riding fixed on the road.
Bike arrives Monday - will post up some pics.
Just been looking at what tools I need carry for it. My track spanner is way too big to carry around. Found a great little 'stubby' wrench on ebay for the wheel nuts. Levers, tool, co2, & spare inner all fits into this little fella, which fits nicely into my pocket for the pub. :-)
I had a hunt around the fixie forums for a good lock. Cardiff is nowhere near as bad as London for theft, so I’ve gone for a Kryponite Evolution Mini 7 instead of the more hardcore (and pricey) New York range.
I’m off out to get smashed in Cardiff now (mate’s birthday). First time out on the piss for over 2 months. Racing season over; party (er, I mean winter training) season begins…
